Most car handles only do one thing. Plenty of shops sell a plain grab handle for about the same money. Before you buy, check that what you're getting does more than help someone stand up.
Description

Kavelo slots into the U-shaped striker on your car door frame and gives you a solid bar to press down on — so you stand with control instead of hauling yourself up on the door or the roof.

It is also a seatbelt cutter and a window breaker, kept somewhere you can actually reach from the driver's seat. Aluminium alloy body, non-slip sponge grip, 160 g.

How to fit it
  1. Open the door and find the U-shaped steel striker on the door frame — it sits low, just above the sill.
  2. Push the metal tongue down into the striker loop, following the arrow.
  3. The grip now points out of the door frame. Take hold of it from above and press down as you stand.

Nothing screws in and nothing is permanent. It lifts straight back out and moves between cars in seconds.

Fitment

Will it fit your car?

No registration or model number needed — one quick look at your car door will tell you, and it takes about five seconds.

U-shape
The steel loop on your door frame. If it's a U, the handle's tongue drops straight into it.
  1. 1Open the driver's door.
  2. 2Look at the door frame — the body of the car, not the door itself.
  3. 3Find the steel loop the door latches onto, low down just above the sill. If it's a U, you're set.

Not sure? Send a photo of your door frame to hello@kavelo.co.uk and we'll tell you either way, usually the same day.

Nearly every car built in the last thirty years uses a U-shaped striker, so the answer is almost always yes — but it's worth a quick look rather than taking our word for it.

Why people buy it

You can't be there every time they get out of the car

Most people using one didn't buy it themselves. A son or daughter noticed the slow push off the door frame, the careful step, the hand searching for something solid — and sent one.

Something solid to press down on
01 — The handle

Something solid to press down on

The door frame is the wrong shape and the roof is too high. Kavelo gives you a proper bar at the right height, with a non-slip sponge grip, so standing up is a press rather than a haul.

Cuts a jammed seatbelt
02 — The blade

Cuts a jammed seatbelt

A shielded blade sits in the body of the handle, guarded so it can't catch a hand in normal use. If a buckle jams, you're not fighting it.

Breaks a side window
03 — The point

Breaks a side window

A hardened point in the base. For the situation where a door won't open and waiting isn't an option.

Works in almost any car
04 — The fit

Works in almost any car

If the door has a U-shaped striker — and nearly all of them do — Kavelo fits. Car, truck, SUV or pickup. No tools, no fitting, nothing permanent.

Something solid to press down on, in any seat
Cuts through a jammed seatbelt in seconds
Breaks a side window if a door won't open
Fits any car with a U-shaped door striker
No tools, no fitting, nothing permanent
Lives in the door pocket, moves between cars
How it works

Three seconds to fit. Nothing to install.

1

Find the striker

Open the door. The U-shaped steel loop on the frame sits low, just above the sill.

2

Drop it in

Push the metal tongue down into the loop, following the arrow. It seats itself.

3

Press and stand

Take the grip from above and press down as you rise. Lift it back out when you're done.

What's inside it

Three tools in one body

Aluminium alloy body

Anti-rust, anti-corrosion, single-piece moulded construction rather than a hollow tube.

Non-slip sponge grip

Contoured for palm and fingers, so a weaker hand still gets a secure hold.

Shielded blade

Set back inside the body so it cuts webbing, not fingers.

Hardened point

Concentrates force on a small area — the way vehicle glass is designed to fail.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Will it fit my car?

Almost certainly. It works with any U-shaped door striker, which is what nearly every modern car uses — car, truck, SUV or pickup. Open your door and look at the steel loop low on the frame; if it's a U, Kavelo fits.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Nothing screws in, nothing is glued, nothing is permanent. The tongue drops into the striker when you need it and lifts straight back out.

Will it scratch the paintwork?

It sits in the steel striker rather than against the paint. As with anything metal near a car door, seat it properly and don't drag it across the panel.

How much weight does it take?

Up to 180 kg — the 400 lb rating the manufacturer states, shown on the product images. The body is a single piece of aluminium alloy rather than a hollow tube, so it takes an adult's full weight pressing down from a seated position without flexing.

How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?

Tracked, ships in 5–9 days, with an email as soon as it's on its way.

Delivery is £4.99, and free on any order over £50.

What if it doesn't help?

Send it back within 30 days for a full refund. No forms to fill in.
